Kalihi Business Association

Aloha Sponsors and Participants of the Kalihi Business Association Annual Christmas Parade:

We hope that you, your family, your business and community associates, and friends are well and safe. If you’re like me, the prevalence of the virus has probably touched you in some way. It has been a difficult time. Regardless, we keep washing hands, keep wearing masks, limit large gatherings, and try to keep everyone safe.

We would like to present a decision that the Board of Directors of the Kalihi Business Association has had to make. It is a difficult one, and some of you may experience a degree of sadness or frustration over this decision, but we hope you see the best of intentions that we have for public safety.

Given what we know and acknowledging what we do not know, no one can say for sure if a parade can be conducted during the holidays at this time. And if you just use common sense, it looks increasingly like the need to control infection levels would prohibit every aspect of a normal parade. The participants of the parade and the attending community along the roadways would be the polar opposite of what you would call social distancing.

So with regret, we have decided to cancel this year’s 2020 Kalihi Business Association Annual Christmas Parade.

We appreciate your understanding. And as we stated up front, we keep washing hands, keep wearing masks, limit large gatherings, and try to keep everyone safe, and we will see you next year at the 2021 KBA Christmas Parade.

Mahalo nui loa!
